2020 has been a chaotic year. Coronavirus has completely changed the way we live our lives. Concerts, movie theaters, clubs, and a lot of other social venues still have their doors closed. Certain businesses have been wiped out or downsized. Business models have changed and shifted more towards people working remotely from home. Life as we know it will never be the same because of COVID-19.
Life After COVID-19
Sadly, the impact of COVID-19 will be felt for years. Millions of people have lost their jobs and will be forced to look for new work. Homelessness has already risen in 2020 and will continue to do so. Whenever local food banks are set up in different cities, people wait several hours to receive food. Unemployment has skyrocketed. In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis just announced that we have received an additional $28 million in federal funding for the Disaster Relief Employment Fund. Even with the release of a vaccine, it will be hard for life to go back to the pre-COVID era immediately. Masks will need to be worn for at least the next year. At this point, there is a lot of uncertainty.
Giving Back To The Community
Now more than ever it is important to give back. Those that have, should consider helping others that are struggling. In life, we are all in this together. Charles Dickens once said: “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” At BioResponse Restoration, we have been very fortunate to keep our doors open during these tumultuous times. That is why we feel it is our responsibility to give back to the community. We have teamed up with some great charities and organizations to help families who have been struggling this year.
JOINING FORCES
BioResponse Restoration is happy to announce that we have teamed up with several different companies and charities to give back to the community. This year we have decided to work with Patches PPEC, Stunna’s Fit Gifts for Kids, St. Alban’s Child Care, and Be the Light Foundation. These handpicked charities provide much needed resources and services directly to those in need.
Patches PPEC
Patches PPEC is an amazing nonprofit that makes a difference in the lives of medically complex children and their families. They have helped many babies and children leave the hospital sooner. Also, Patches PPEC has helped countless families manage their child’s health care needs which makes them feel safe when they return to school or work. By providing a comprehensive team of health care professionals, they are able to monitor children’s conditions throughout the day and come up with a unique plan of care for each child. They offer a variety of medical treatments, therapy treatments and offer special support to help assist their patients and their families.
St. Alban’s Child Care
St. Alban’s has been helping our community since 1949. Since then they have helped thousands of children in various areas of South Florida. They work with children as young as 6 weeks old. This amazing organization does so much for children. One of the great things about St. Alban’s is that they plan properly balanced and nutritional meals to ensure that children do not go hungry. A contracted mental health professional is on site to help any child that might be dealing with any mental health problems. St. Alban’s provides so many wonderful and beneficial services that really help children.
Stunna’s Fit and Shoes For Streets
Stunna’s Fit is a gym located in South Miami. On a daily basis they train people in boxing and run intensive boot camps. Gabriel Varona is the creator and founder of Stunna’s Fit. After an impressive fighting career, he decided to open Stunna’s Fit. Every year Stunna’s Fit helps to give back to the community and is constantly doing various charity events. Varona started the charity “Shoes for Streets” which collects barely used shoes from people and gives them to homeless people. This is a great way to give back to the less fortunate but it is also good for the environment where the shoes are being reused instead of just tossed in the trash. We couldn’t be more proud to work with such a thoughtful entrepreneur as Gabriel Varona.
This holiday season, BioResponse Restoration and “Shoes for Streets” will be taking presents to various underprivileged neighborhoods and handing them out directly to children. We’ll also have some help from you know who, Mr. Santa Claus!
Be The Light Foundation
Be The Light is an organization that was founded after Ari Arteaga tragically passed away in 2018 in a car accident. Honoring Ari by keeping his light and legacy alive, Be The Light is a beacon of hope for those living through hardships. Throughout the year they have fundraising events that go to help the underprivileged and those in need. Every holiday they give back to the community in gigantic ways with their toy drives and giveaways.
Our Holiday Charity Giveaway
BioResponse Restoration does yearly charity giveaways. This year has been especially tough, so we have decided to sponsor one family who has been dealing with extreme hardships due to COVID-19. This family will receive food and toys for their children this holiday season. As we have mentioned previously, we will be partnering up with the charities mentioned above to do various toy drives and giveaways. BioResponse Restoration has and will continue to do this yearly, but we will also be contributing to different charities throughout the year. Charity work is something we believe in. Any way that we can give back to the community, we will gladly do so.
